To the Honourable NSW Minister for Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Heritage, Penny Sharpe

I join many others in making a  kindly request for an URGENT interim heritage order to protect the 'wallum' site located at 15 Torakina Road Brunswick Heads (DA 2021/575) in regards to the development of “Wallum” (15 Torakina Rd, Brunswick Heads NSW, 2483 ... SEE https://thewallum.blogspot.com/p/the-site.html) as a questionable investment oriented housing development.

Currently this ecologically sensitive site is under immanent threat from 'the bulldozers' doing unrepairable damage to make way for a questionable housing development on a site that holds natural, scientific & cultural significance.

Alternatively, I ask that you make a declaration under the NP&W Act as an Aboriginal place for the wallum site in order for it to be assessed properly  and appropriately for cultural significance.

Please use your ministerial powers to intervene before we lose yet another culturally significant ecosystem to a Zombie DA

Alarmingly, Byron Shire Council has issued a construction certificate on 7 February 2024, and accordingly the arrival of the bulldozers is imminent.

Yours sincerely,
